Here's what's covered:

  • Unlimited UK callouts
  • 24 Hour UK roadside assistance
  • Help to transport the vehicle, you and your passengers to a destination of your choice, up to 10 miles, if the RAC cannot repair the vehicle at the roadside
  • Cover if your car breaks down within a quarter mile of your home
  • Doesn't cover vehicles outside of the UK

How can I add car Breakdown Cover to my car insurance?

If you're a new customer, you can take out Breakdown Cover when you purchase a car insurance policy online or over the phone.

Already got a policy with us? No problem, you can add Breakdown Cover by logging into Your Account. Log in and click 'make changes' to get a quote and update your policy. Or alternatively you can call our Customer Services team.

If you're a Motivo Premier customer, check your policy schedule to see what's included in your policy.

How do I contact the car breakdown company?

Our breakdown cover is provided by the RAC, we recommend saving their number so you always have it to hand.

How do I know if I have Breakdown Cover?
You can easily check what cover you have by taking a look at your policy documents. If you don't have them to hand, don't worry, you can find them in Your Account.

Does your Breakdown Cover me in other cars I drive?

No, this cover is only for the insured vehicle.

What countries are covered under your European Breakdown car insurance?

Do I get a refund if I cancel my car Breakdown Cover?

If you bought RAC Breakdown Cover as an Optional Extra, you're entitled to a full refund if you cancel your cover within 14 days from the start date of your policy, providing you haven't used the cover.

After this 14 day period you won't be eligible for a refund.

If you bought your Breakdown Cover as part of a Motivo Core or Motivo Premier product, you'll receive a pro rata refund of your premium.
